Sleep is not laziness.
A limited-edition sleep collection for people who take rest seriously.
I’ve believed this for years. I wrote about it in my book Better, Bolder, Different. I’ve lived it through business, travel, pregnancy, motherhood and more naps than I can count.
Now, I’ve created my first physical product collaboration with Do Not Disturb to help you protect your rest too.
And I couldn’t be more thrilled!

The only reason I can live this life is because I prioritise my sleep.
Long before there was an eyemask with my name on it, there were naps. Lots of naps!
There were university power naps, road-trip sleeps in meadows, pregnancy pillows, and friends calling me “Reclining Kate”.
People often ask how I run a busniess, create content, raise a family and keep caring about the planet and it’s people.
The answer is not a secret productivity system…
It is sleep.
When I’m rested I’m more patient, creative and present. A better wife. A better Mum. A better Friend.
A better version of myself.
A Small Sleep Tool with Lots of Story.
This eye mask is small, but it carries a lot of story. It’s warm, practical, playful and made to support one simple habit… switching off.
The Story Behind “Orchard Orange”
Originally called Autumn Orange, this colour quickly became one of my favourites.
Chris (Founder) has now officially renamed it Orchard Orange, which feels incredibly special. It’s warm and evolks abundance and fruitfulness - and every time I see it, I think of the season of life we’re in.
This colour now lives across the Ethically Kate eye mask, door stop and draught stopper, creating a small but meaningful collection for rest, home and slower living.
Why I’m In Bed With Do Not Disturb
I’ve been using Do Not Disturb products for years.
I've slept under their duvets, rested on their pillows, and during pregnancy their body pillow - affectionately nicknamed "Steven" - became one of my most treasured possessions.
More importantly, I've gotten to know the people behind the business.
Chris and his team manufacture in New Zealand, champion skilled local makers, prioritise natural fibres and genuinely care about doing things well.
If Ethically Kate ever sold physical products, I suspect it would look remarkably similar to Do Not Disturb.
That made saying yes to this collaboration easy.
Your Purchase Includes Ethically Kate’s Guide To Sleep
Sleep isn’t something you buy. It’s something you protect.
Every purchase (of my limited edition range + any Do Not Disturb product) includes a complimentary digital copy of Ethically Kate’s Guide to Sleep - Rest, Naps & Sustainable Energy.
It’s an updated version of my philosophy on sleep, expanded from the original chapter in Better, Bolder, Different and rewritten through the lens of motherhood and modern life.
It has suggestions, top tips and personal insights. I hope it encourages you to think differently about sleep.
More of Kate’s Sleep Favourites
Do Not Disturb sleep products Kate can’t live without.
Wisewool™ Body Pillow
Meet Steven. Yes, Kate loved her Wise Wool™ Body Pillow so much she gave it a name.
Whether you're pregnant, recovering, side sleeping or simply love having something to cuddle, Steven is ridiculously comfortable. It supported Kate right through pregnancy and is still part of her nightly routine.
Everybody deserves a Steven.
Wisewool™ Duvets
Kate genuinely raves about this duvet.
It's the perfect balance of cosy, gently weighted and beautifully temperature regulating.
If one of you sleeps hot and the other sleeps cold, this duvet somehow keeps the peace.
It's one of those products you don't fully appreciate until you've slept under it.
This is the duvet I'd buy again in a heartbeat.
Wisewool™ Pillow
Finding the perfect pillow is surprisingly personal, which is why Tim and Kate love these. They're supportive, cosy and fully customisable, letting you add or remove wool to create your perfect height and firmness. Tim and Kate each sleep on different pillow heights, so they've customised theirs differently.
It's a pillow that adapts to you, not the other way around.

Because I've spent years talking about sleep before I ever talked about products.
Sleep has been one of the biggest themes in my life, my book Better, Bolder, Different, my business and now motherhood. This collaboration simply gives people beautiful tools to help protect something I already believe is worth protecting.
If Ethically Kate ever became a business making physical products, I genuinely think it would look remarkably similar to Do Not Disturb. I've slept under their duvets, used their pillows, relied on "Steven" (their body pillow) through pregnancy, visited their workshop and got to know the people behind the brand. This collaboration felt incredibly natural.

It's much more than a sleep mask.
It's handmade in New Zealand using beautiful natural materials, features a soft linen backing, gentle weighted pressure, a subtle lavender scent, wooden sunflower buttons and can be gently warmed or chilled depending on what your body needs.
Most importantly, it's designed to become part of a nightly ritual rather than another product sitting in a drawer.
-
Every purchase through my collection (and any Do Not Disturb product) includes Ethically Kate’s Guide to Rest - a complimentary digital guide expanding on my philosophy around sleep, rest, motherhood and protecting your energy.
It's my way of saying thank you for supporting both Ethically Kate and Do Not Disturb.

Yes.
Orchard Orange is a limited-edition collaboration between Ethically Kate and Do Not Disturb. We don't know if this exact colourway will ever return, so if you've fallen in love with it, now's the time.
-
Absolutely.
I've always believed naps are one of the most underrated productivity tools available, and this mask is just as useful for a 20-minute reset as it is for a full night's sleep.
Whether you're winding down at night, travelling, recovering from a busy day or simply stealing a quiet moment, it's designed to help your body switch off.

Do Not Disturb ships throughout New Zealand and Australia, and to many international destinations. Shipping options, delivery times and costs are shown during checkout, so you'll see exactly what's available for your location before placing your order.
-
That sleep isn't laziness.
It's one of the most underrated sustainability tools we have.
When we protect our rest, we become more patient, more creative, more resilient and better equipped to care for ourselves, the people we love and the planet.
-
That protecting your sleep isn't selfish.
When I protect my sleep, I'm a better mum, wife, friend and human. I'm more patient, more creative, more resilient and much better equipped to live out the values I care about.
That's why I created Kate's Guide to Sleep and why this collaboration exists.
The eye mask isn't the goal.
Better sleep is.
If this collection helps even a few more people prioritise their rest, I'll be incredibly happy.
Kate’s Final Thoughts on Sleep
Rest is not something you earn once everything else is finished. It is one of the kindest, most sustainable investments you can make in yourself.
Thank you for supporting this collaboration. I truly hope these products become part of many slow mornings, early nights and afternoon naps.
